Summary edit
English: Using a forked branch and woolen yarn a Sami shoe lace is being braided. The same technology is also used to make belts to reindeer fur-coats and Sami costumes. Before wool was introduced to the Sami area the same technique was used but with tanned leather reinforced with sinew from reindeer sinews. Sami shoelaces have a double function of holding the traditional sami shoe in place and prevent snow from coming in to the shoe. Hence the upper part of the boot is placed under the trousers and the lace which is attached to the shoe is wrapped around the leg. description=Norsk bokmål: Fletting av komagbånd |
