English: Looking northwest on the northbound lanes of John Philip Sousa Bridge in Washington, D.C., in the United States in May 2014. To the right of the bridge's northern terminus are four tunnels. Left to right, they are: A pedestrian underpass, for the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail; a railway underpass, for the CSX Transportation railroad tracks; and two tunnels, no longer in use through which now-decommissioned Interstate 695 passed. The interstate tunnels opened in 1970, and permanently closed in 2012. |
