Description
English: Commemorative plaque (1812-2012) at the foot to the Monument erected on the hill "Arapil Grande", in remembrance of the significant victory of the Anglo-Luso-Spanish forces over the napoléonic troops.
Note, right in the middle of the plaque, between the letters M and B, the trace of what seems to be an attempt to destroy it, clearly obvious when on site.

Los Arapiles, 22 July 1812 has now left the semi-closed world of historians and spreads into the public, more aware of this turning point of the Peninsular War : On January 27, 1994, one third of the battlefield has been protected as Bien de Interés Histórico, as Sitio Histórico.
More recently, from Friday to Sunday nearest to the 22nd of July, various events are organized to commemorate the Victorious Battle of Los Arapiles.
October 2020 : The City Council decided to pay tribute to this significant historical event by including different children's figures in the decoration of the municipal Kindergarten with the uniforms of soldiers who participated in the battle.
