Description Lot-11582-1: Air Attacks on German Submarines, WWII. Barrage. A U.S. warship lays down a barrage of high explosive shells sending jets of water spurting out of the Atlantic Ocean. The ship opened up her guns after an enemy submarine was reported in the vicinity. This picture was taken en-route to North Africa. Photograph released December 1942. U.S. Navy Photograph.
