| Description | Lot-801-20: Guadalcanal Campaign, 7 August 1942 – February 9 1943. It’s no easy job to be a newsman on Guadalcanal, what with the tropical diseases and the usual hazards on the fighting front. These men also make extra good targets for the Japanese snipers who get special recognition if they down a correspondent. Here are Sherman Montrose, (left), Acme News Correspondent and Francis McCarthy UP Correspondent, both have suffered attack of dysentery and a dozen more assorted tropical complaints.
