Description Lot-803-18: Aleutian Islands Campaign, June 1942 - August 1943. Allied Landing on Attu Island, May 11 1943. Seabees on Adak make Attu unsafe for Japanese. The base-building “Can Do” men of the Navy, Seabees of the Construction Battalion, work in all kinds of weather to establish the far flung advance posts from which the war is being carried to the Japanese. Photo caption: Seabee Electrical Men Set Up Shop On Adak. Electrical workers among the Navy’s Seabees on Adak ply their peacetime trade in a small shack at the advance American base.
