Summary edit

Description Lot 9439-9: American Women on the Home Front. To take over men’s jobs, to replace men called to the colors is one of the many duties of the women in today’s war. And American women are now right in the front lines of industry. They are all-out to help win the war on the assembly lines. American women are building planes, they are not only sewing on wing coverings or counting parts, but actually participating in the construction of planes. At the Piper Aircraft Corporation’s plant at Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, women do every type of construction work that used to be considered “a man’s job.” With drills, wrenches and hammers American women work on the fuselage of a future Army training plane in the Piper plant at Lock Haven, Pennsylvania.
