English: Nottingham - St Pancras express leaving Loughborough Midland. View NW, towards Trent/Derby/Nottingham, Sheffield etc.: Midland Main Line. The 13.25 Nottingham Midland - St Pancras, headed by Stanier 'Jubilee' 6P 4-6-0 No. 45665 'Lord Rutherford of Nelson' (built 11/35, withdrawn 12/62), called at most stations and was unusual in running via Trent and Leicester as most Nottingham expresses ran via Melton Mowbray. On the left can just be seen bridge carrying the ex-GC Sheffield - Nottingham - Marylebone main line across just north of Loughborough Central station, this bridge being on the short section of the two heritage Great Central Railways which remain to be restored and joined up. |
