Summary edit

Description
English: The line from Attymon Junction (on the Dublin - Galway line) to Loughrea opened in 1890 and, when it closed on 1 November 1975, was the last true Irish branch line still with mixed (passenger coaches and freight wagons) trains. The G class locomotives were built by Deutz of West Germany and supplied to CIE in 1955, with a second order delivered in 1962. Some are now preserved.
