English:

Many of Seattle's Jewish residents were successful businessmen. In this family portrait, probably taken in the early 1900s, Louis Hoffman stands with his wife and five children. In 1901, Hoffman was the manager of the Rival Clothing Company, and he lived with his family at 423 Terry Avenue on First Hill.
