English: Lower Venton. A detail from the scene in 1575106, with the farm, cottages and barns at Lower Venton and the course of the Ridgecot Lake beyond them. Above the farm is the line of the main railway line, with a continuous row of small trees to the left of the farmhouse and across to the right near Hook's Brake, the small wood on the extreme right (in SX5957). Behind looms the moor, around Shell Top and Yealm Head. |
