| Description | The 18-year-old's gravestone featuring Marvin the Martian (previous photo) is the fourth stone to the left in the row perpendicular to the hill. I was much struck by how much more story was in the little, more recent stones in this section, many of which were festooned with flags, model cars, and other objects presumably from the deceased's life. We know stuff about Cecil Dyal: that Marvin the Martian was important to him, and that his loved ones remembered that. What do we know about C. V. B. Ostrander, owner of this impressive mausoleum? Who cares? |
