| Description |
English: Lowland Acid Grassland This part of the park is away from the damage of the flower show and still supports this valuable habitat. It is a national Biodiversity Action Plan Habitat - many area with suitable soil are in the London area so are either built on or have been quarried for aggregates. The parkland and golf courses now contain most of the habitat, with other fragments on road and rail verges, around amenity land and on wasteland, these being neglected, at risk from development and separated from each other. They are important as they support a diversity of grass and plant species as well as mosses, lichens and fungi. |
