| Description | Schönheide im Erzgebirge: Am 31. Oktober 1917, mitten im Ersten Weltkrieg, pflanzte die evangelisch-lutherische Kirchgemeinde eine Eiche als Luther-Eiche auf dem Platz neben der Schule, später „Gustav-Haupt-Platz“ genannt, zu DDR-Zeiten „Platz des Friedens“. Die Eisengießerei in Schönheiderhammer, damals im Besitz der Familie von Querfurth, schuf die Plakette, die am Fuß der neu gepflanzten Eiche angebracht wurde: „„Luther-Eiche. Gottes Wort und Luthers Lehr vergehen nie und nimmer mehr. 1517–1917“ (Heimatgrüße. Unsern lieben Feldgrauen und Meerblauen gewidmet von ihren Heimatgemeinden Schönheide, Schönheiderhammer und Neuheide. Monatliche Nachrichten aus der Heimat. Blatt 24. Novembernummer 1917, S. 188). Diese im Jahr 1917 gepflanzte Eiche ist im Jahr 2017 noch vorhanden. Die diesen Baum als Luther-Eiche kennzeichnende Schriftplatte ist den Wirren der Zeit zum Opfer gefallen und verloren gegangen. Sie soll als Replik wieder aufgestellt werden (Schönheider Wochenblatt Nr. 44/17 vom 3. November 2017, S. 1f.). |
