Summary edit

Description
English: Lych Gate cottages, at the corner of Trinity Lane and Priory Row, Coventry. Tree ring analysis on the timbers in the building suggests that some of them were felled from 1414 to 1415 with the assumption being that the structures were built not long afterwards. The earliest documentary reference to the buildings that can be identified with certainty is dated 1583. They were repaired in 1855 when taken over by the Blue Coat school. Additions to the side and rear were made at this time. In the foreground are old style traffic bollards (reflectors lost) and on the right the wall and gateway of Trinity churchyard. In the background, the side elevations of buildings in Priory Row and Coventry Cathedral, beyond which is a grey multi-storey students' residence.
