| Description |
Português: Médanos Grandes, zona de dunas fixas no SE da Província de San Juan, Argentina. As dunas tem 50 metros de altura e até 1000 de diâmetro. Foram formadas 30K anos atrás, com reativações da deposição de areia por ação eólica a 4K, 2,2K, 600 e 400 anos atrás. Embora com alguma vegetação arbustiva, na escala dessa imagem prevalece a cor alaranjada da areia e as área escuras são sombras, evidenciando o relevo. A exceção é a meia-lua em cor preta no lado esq. superior, com árvores e marcas de drenagem de água; a linha escura indo a NO / Médanos Grandes, large fixed dune field at Argentina´s San Juan Province Southeast. Dunes have around 170 feet height and half a mile diamenter. They were formed 30k years ago, with eolic sand deposition reactivation 4K, 2,2K, 600 and 400 years ago. Though with some desert bushes, in this image scale orangeish sand color prevails, dark areas are shadows, highlighting relief. Exception is black half-moon near image upper left corner, with trees and water drainage marks; dark line going Northwest.
