Italiano: MAREA è un cavo di comunicazioni transatlantiche lungo 6600 chilometri che fisicamente collegherà la Virginia, USA e Bilbao, Spagna, nato dalla collaborazione di Microsoft, Facebook e Telefónica. La massima capacità trasmissiva sarà di 160 Tbps (Terabits al secondo). Le operazioni di costruzioni saranno dirette dalla Telxius, una filiale della società spagnola telecom Telefónica. Esse dureranno dall'Agosto 2016 all'Ottobre 2017. Il nome del progetto deriva dal termine marea in spagnolo. |
