Antwerpen, 1570 OKM m161

Deze crosse van een staf werd in 1570 vervaardigd voor de franciscaan Aegidius de Monte, die in dat jaar bisschop van Deventer werd. De crosse is tot in de jaren tachtig gebruikt door de oud-katholieke bisschop van Deventer. Op de nodus ziet men in nissen verguld zilveren beeldjes van heiligen, o.a. Aegidius en Franciscus. Bovenin de krul staat Lebuïnus, patroon van Deventer. De Latijnse tekst op de achterzijde betekent: “het is zaliger te geven dan te ontvangen”. De crosse is een zeldzaam fraai voorbeeld van 16de-eeuwse Antwerpse edelsmeedkunst.
