Summary
editDescriptionMG PA,PB "Leonidis" special, Lime Rock (rear).jpg |
English: 1935 MG PA/PB "Leonidis" special at the 2014 Lime Rock Concours d'Élegance. This car started out as an 847cc PA (s/n 1667) and won the ladies' class at the 1935 Le Mans. It was then upgraded to 939cc PB specifications, after which it was supercharged. The bodywork remained original until it was damaged by a New York taxicab in 1937, after which a John Oliveau designed this aerodynamic bodywork. In 1939 Miles Collier raced at the Le Mans again, although he had to retire after eight hours with a ruptured gas tank. The car's last victory was at Bridgehampton in 1950. More information here. |
