Summary edit

Description
English: Building fragment in the lapidarium ("stone collection") in the East Crypt of the Basilica of Saint Servatius in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Highlights include the cenotaph of Monulph and Gondulph, early Christian grave stones, sections of a Gothic rood screen and other architectural sculptures. Here: the doorstep of the southwest entrance of the Carolingean church. The grooves on the stone, caused by the long and frequent use of ropes, indicate it was formerly used along the edge of a well.
