English: Madeleine Angevine at Sharpham Vineyard The wines are grown on the south facing slopes above the River Dart. This variety is the principal grape in the white wines. The vines are trained on wires about 3 feet from the ground which protects the flowers and newly set fruit from late frosts. They are picked by hand at the end of September. |
