Handwritten on verso: Seattle Lake Shore & Eastern depot at foot of Madison in early 90's. Rough map on verso shows locations of landmarks in photo, including Stacy Mansion, McNaught Mansion, Methodist Episcopal Church spire, Central School, Presbyterian church, hotel, Providence Hospital, tents, Lenora Hotel, Schwabacher Bros & Co Groceries & Hardware, Raymond Eggert & Co., Standard Furniture, H.J. Hull Furniture. Typed on sleeve: Train Depot at the foot of Madison Street. 1892-93. Seattle Lakeshore [sic] & Eastern car in front of their freight office. This photo would have to have been taken sometime during 1890 as the Griffith and Noyes Buildings, still windowless and covered in scaffolding here, were all completed by the end of that year.
