Object history La obra, basada en una composición de Rafael (La Virgen de la silla), se encontraba en el Palacio Real de Madrid antes de ser expoliada durante la Guerra de la Independencia por José Bonaparte. Recuperada por el duque de Wellington, fue finalmente regalada a este por Fernando VII. Actualmente se conserva en la Apsley House de Londres, junto al resto la colección del duque.
