Français : Autres titres : 677, rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest, Montréal. Description : Ce n'est qu'en 1925 que la maison torontoise décida d'ouvrir une succursale à Montréal. Le 20 mars 1925, Eaton prenait possession du magasin Goodwin, qui occupait tout le quadrilatère borné par les rues Sainte-Catherine, University, Victoria et Burnside. En moins de deux ans, on reconstruisit littéralement l'ancien magasin Goodwin, tout en le portant à six étages et en le dotant de façades entièrement nouvelles sur tout son pourtour. Cette opération fut menée section par section, de façon à ne pas interrompre les activités du magasin. (Source : Communauté urbaine de Montréal. Les magasins, les cinémas, p. 180, 1987)
