English: Built in the 19th Century, this Queen Anne-style building features a red brick exterior, low-slope rear shed roof mostly surrounded by parapets, a bracketed cornice, recessed central portion of the facade with brick corbeling above, brick pilasters on the either end of the front facade, two-over-one windows, brick and cast iron pilasters, quarter-circle and rectangular stained glass transoms above the second story windows, a triple third floor window with a brick trim surround including a blind brick arch above, limestone sill and header, limestone belt coursing above, decorative patterned brickwork at and above the third floor, brick corbeling at the top of the facade, and a first floor retail shopfront, with a metal fire escape mounted on the building’s south facade along the adjacent alleyway. The building is a contributing structure in the Newark Downtown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
