Description
English: Heavy flooding has been ongoing in Manitoba since the end of April 2022. Several communities have suffered extensive damage and 18 municipalities have declared a state of emergency. The highway connecting Winnipeg, Manitoba's capital city to the USA, has been closed. Morris, the town shown in this image acquired by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites on 5 May 2022, has been isolated by the floodwaters. Data acquired by the Copernicus Sentinel satellite allow us to monitor the development of disasters worldwide and to estimate the extent of the affected area.
