Description

Family: Euphorbiaceae Distribution: Common on hill side forests of India, Malaya and Australia 5-8m tall deciduous trees. Leaves 8-18x4-9cm, ovate-lanceolate. Glandular beneath, base rounded. Flowers 4-5mm across, orrange-yellow in 5-10cm long, sub terminal paniculate cymes. Capsule 0.8-1cm across, globose, 3 valved, studded with red tomentum. Red dye is extracted from the flowers and fruits.
