Description
English: object type / vase shape: attic red figure loutrophoros

- description neck: 2 women, the one on the right holding a kalathos - belly: woman with box, woman with loutrophoros, flying Eros crowning the bride who sits in a chair, woman with wreath, woman with box and further women - production place: Athens - painter: not jet attributed as far as I know. Comparing the even more ornate loutrophoros Berlin Antikensammlung F 2373 (not by the same hand, but in the same style of drawing) I would place the Piraeus loutrophoros in the workshop / manner of the Meidias Painter - period / date: classical, ca. 420 BC - material: pottery (clay) - museum / inventory number: Piraeus, Archaeological Museum 7345 (Geroulanos collcection) - bibliography: George Steinhauer, The Monuments and the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus, 1998, 39, plate 4
