Данная карта является копией, снятой с более древнего оригинала Жозе Раймундо да Кунья Матосом (1776-1839 гг.) — бразильским военным историком, одним из основателей Бразильского историко-географического института. Although Minas Gerais is best known for the gold and diamond mines that gave the region its name, agriculture became more important to the regional economy over the course of the 19th century, as the mines were exhausted.
