Description

La maquette de l'île des musées (Museumsinsel) dans Berlin vers 1900 Partie de la maquette de Berlin vers 1900 présentée dans l'exposition de la Humboldt-Box préfigurant le Humboldt-Forum.

La construction en 1830 par l'architecte Karl Friedrich Schinkel du premier musée de Berlin : l'Altes Museum, face au Palais Royal, est à l'origine de la création de l'île des musées (Museumsinsel).

Cet espace majeur dans l'offre culturelle de Berlin regroupe aujourd'hui cinq musées nationaux : Altes Museum, Neues Museum, Alte Nationalgalerie, Pergamonmuseum, Bode-Museum auxquels s'ajoutera l'Humboldt-Forum (musée d'ethnologie, musée d'arts asiatiques, bibliothèque multimédia) dans quelques années.
