Description: Margaret French Cresson was the daughter of renowned sculptor Daniel Chester French. Cresson's specialty was creating portrait busts but was also a gifted painter, writer and lecturer. In 1969 she donated the 150 acre family estate and studio in Western Massachusetts, Chesterwood, to the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Today, Chesterwood is a public museum.
