Description

Caption from Tumblr: Maria Carolina of Austria, Ferdinand IV, and their children. An exact date isn’t given for the miniature, but it likely dates to around 1776.

Their third and fourth children were both born in 1775, with son Carlo (In green) being born in January, and daughter Maria Anna (On her mother’s lap) in December. The child on the left wearing the more adult style dress is likely eldest daughter, Maria Theresa. Second born daughter Luisa holds Carlo’s hand.

In 1777, a fifth child and second son, Francis, was born, which means the date of 1776 is the most probable one.
