Description

Five hundred years of development of naval architecture seen in the harbour of Funchal, Madeira. The vessel on the left is a sea-worthy (and presumably full size) replica of the Santa María de la Inmaculada Concepción. She is based in Funchal and provides tourist trips along the coast of Madeira.

On the right is the stern of MS Independence of the Seas visiting Funchal for one day on one of its cruises.
