The Grand Marian Procession celebration in the Philippines

Summary edit

Description
English: The procession typically takes place on the first Sunday of December, coinciding with the Advent season leading up to Christmas. The event begins with a Mass in one of the major churches in Manila, such as the Manila Cathedral or the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (commonly known as the Manila Metropolitan Cathedral-Basilica). After the Mass, the faithful gather for the procession, which winds its way through the streets of Intramuros, the historic walled city of Manila. The highlight of the Grand Marian Procession is the participation of various Marian images and statues from different churches and communities across the Philippines.
