| Description |
English: Market Place, Omagh. Workmen are carrying out repair work here and they have spread salt and sand over the slippery surfaces. I can remember when I was at school in the early 1960's, taking a short cut through here and there was a bookmaker's at this same corner. The punters used to gather outside, and toss up coins and have their own betting games. There was a lookout posted at street entrances in both direction to give advance warning of the boys in blue. |
