Description |
English: One of the so-called Marly Horses. Carrara marble, 1739-1745. Commissioned in 1739 for the park of the castle of Marly, the two sculptures were transfered in 1794 to the entrance to the Champs-Élysées in Paris and replaced by cement copies in 1985.
Français : L'un des deux chevaux de Marly. Marbre de Carrare, 1739-1745. Commandées en 1739 pour la décoration du parc du château de Marly, les deux statues ont été transférées en 1794 à l'entrée des Champs-Élysées, à Paris, puis remplacées par des copies en ciment en 1985. |
