Summary edit

Description
English: The French Office national des forêts (“Forests national office”, aka ONF) is supposed to mark 2 or 3 “arbres bios” by hectare: they are normally choosed among old, misshapen or damaged trees, without economic value but with high ecologic value, because of the high level of biodiversity they usually host. These trees, destined to live, die and rot afoot without human intervention, are usually painted with an inversed chamois triangle, as here, or with a red V; previously, they were tagged with a green “Arbre pour la biodiversité” plastic plaque (french for “Tree for biodiversity”).
