Description |
English: This image of the McHugh Building was likely taken facing southwest at the intersection formed by the meeting of Hubble Way and Terry Avenue at Pike Street. The two-story automobile sales building was built and designed for entrepreneur Thomas C. McHugh (1864-1934) by the Seattle Building Co. In 1921 the H. C. McCulloch Co., distributor of Federal tires, occupied the building, listed at 925 Pike Street (also as Pike and Terry). Also visible in this image, the moving company Union Transfer Company was located at 907 Pike Street. The building is no longer standing, and the site became part of the Washington State Convention Center in 1988. Signs in image: The McCulloch Co., Federal Tires; Union Transfer Co.
