Summary edit

Description

English: Altar with the painting by Peter Paul Rubens, The adoration of the Magi (1617). The painting is now part of the portico altar which was erected in the 18th century. Some of the windows were replaced by walls, the original lighting is therefore unknown.

The two side panels depict the baptism of Christ by John the Baptist and John the Evangelist, the patron saints of the church.

The contract shows that the painting wa smade by the master himself.
