Medal, Austrian, Cross for Merit, WWI Obverse. 3.25"H x 2" W Zinc

A new donation to the collection, an Austrian medal awarded to civilians and soldiers of lower ranks for outstanding acts and services during WWI. Medal was instituted on 1st April 1916 in two grades with and without the imperial crown. The obverse side shows the monogram for Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria, surrounded by words, " Viribus Unitis". Reverse of the medal has date 1916.
