Title
Medieval? gold finger ring
Description
English: Medieval Gold finger ring, The ring has a hoop 20mm in diameter, weighs 3.39grams and has a raised hexagonal bezel measuring 11mm long, 8mm wide and 6mm high.

The ring has curvi-linear engraving on its shoulders which appears worn. It has a series of incised lines running towards the centre of its underside, picked out in niello. The hexagonal bezel has a rope like border below a plain curved depression. Above this each face has a sub oval depression surmounted by an oval recess for the stone, which is a modern black facetted stone (the original was present when purchased but has since been lost). Niello is present in patches on most of the bezel.
