English: A memorial at Fortuna Depot Museum, seen in October 2023. It honors three Northwestern Pacific Railroad trainmen who were killed on January 17, 1953, when a landslide at Scotia Bluffs washed their work train locomotive into the Eel River. The three men were engineer D.G. Liscom, fireman T.R. Porter, and brakeman James H. Aure. A fourth crew member, H.C. Sanchez, swam to safety.
