Summary edit

Description
English: Memorial stone for Jemima Nicholas Jemima Nicholas, a local cobbler, was reputed to have scared off the invading French in 1797 by processing around a local hill with a gang of women dressed in red shawls and black bonnets, conveying the impression of a troop of soldiers. Her burial place is not known for certain but this stone outside St Mary's Church in the centre of Fishguard, was erected in her memory 100 years after the event.
