English: This was a reenactment held on 21 May 2018 called Merħba lil Granmastru. An event which was part of the celebrations to commemorate the 200 years from the arrival of the titular statue of St. Catherine organised by the Soċjeta Mużikali Santa Katarina V.M.
The reenactment recreates Grandmaster Hompesch’s visit in Żurrieq in 1798. It is documented that a triumphal arch was set up in the square for this visit. It is the same triumphal arch shown on the photo and the same one which is set up yearly for the titular feast of St. Catherine.
