English: Merton Meadow. Flood prone land in Hereford One corner is covenanted as a sports ground and is currently occupied by Hereford United, but owned by a developer, the rest is not a meadow anymore but a big carpark. The whole area with the old canal basin, small workshops, football ground and cattle market is earmarked for one of Britains biggest urban regeneration programmes... all 100 acres of it. Of course no one can agree what to do with it. Chances are that it will end up under tin sheds with a flatpack modern football ground in a corner. Taken from just outside the square in the Focus carpark off Widemarsh St. First ever picture taken with new camera after I wore the old one out. |
