English: A photograph of Horley station interchange, Horley, Surrey. The bus on the left is Metrobus 577 (YT09 BKU), a Scania CN230UB OmniCity, on Crawley Fastway route 20. The bus at the top is Metrobus 574 (YT09 BKL), another Scania OmniCity on route 20, running in the opposite direction. As part of Phase 1 of Surrey County Council's Bus Review, route 20 was revised from 28 August 2010. One change was that it was diverted to call into Horley station interchange. However, the new timetable proved unreliable, and eventually a new timetable was introduced from 12 February 2011. Combined with the fact the use of the interchange was lower than Surrey CC expected, it was sometimes blocked by illegally parked cars, and most of all it took up running time in the timetable, the route was taken back out of the interchange from the new timetable. While it might sound bad, there are actually bus stops right outside the main station entrance, which is built up around a road bridge over the railway. Route 20 serves these bus stops, so interchange with train services wasn't really affected. The bus in the middle is Southdown PSV 114 (LK55 AEA). |
