Description
English: Panoramic view from the Inn at Middletown, Middletown, Connecticut, USA.


At extreme left the tower of the South Congregational Church and, to the right of the wing of the Inn, part of the South Green (a.k.a. Union Park), which are in the Middletown South Green Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP reference #75001922).

The three houses (now all professional offices) on the far side of Main Street were all moved here in the 1970s from nearby streets, and rehabilitated. Left to right they are:

  • Caleb Fuller House, 49 Main Street. Built in 1771, the house has been moved twice in its history. It is also counted in the South Green Historic District.
  • Rev. John Cookson House, 61 Main Street, built in 1837.
  • Southmayd House, 73 Main Street, built in 1747.

All are contributing properties of the Metro South Historic District (NRHP Reference #80004064), which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

To the right is the First Baptist Church, also in the Metro South Historic District.

The highrise at right is MiddleOak Insurance. The skyline in the distance is Wesleyan University.
