Once the home of a famous stud horse, ByerleyTurk: http://www.tbheritage.com/Portraits/ByerleyTurk.html And also mischievous demons called the Middridge Faeries. They supposedly once chased a traveller who took refuge in the Grange just before the faeries threw a pitchfork at him which stuck in the door. King Charles I is also said to have taken refuge at the Grange. |
