Description

This Old Warden based Gemini is privately owned but is a regular performer at Shuttleworth Collection displays. It is one of only two that remain airworthy. c/n 6479. On the flightline at Old Warden during the 2013 Autumn Airshow. 06-10-2013.

The details below are from the Shuttleworth Collection Website:-

The Miles Gemini was designed as a twin-engined retractable landing gear version of the earlier Miles Messenger, the Gemini first flew on the 26th October 1945. It was a low- wing cantilever monoplane of plastic bonded plywood construction with twin vertical tail units.

The Gemini was originally powered by 90 horse power Blackburn Cirrus Minor engines, but other versions were fitted with de Havilland Gipsy Majors. A total of 130 Gemini's were sold in the first year of production.
