English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Prime Minister Beel keeps himself informed on the situation in the areas affected by the Second World War. In Middelharnis he leaves the ferry with his company; greets a.o. mayor D. Rijnders and is gets cheered by school children. In the harbor of Stad aan 't Haringvliet he watches the loading of potatoes on the inland vessel together with deputy mayor L. Braber Jlz. From the dyke in Oude Tonge, Beel and his company look at the remains of the locks that were blown up by the Germans; in herkingen they watch the remains of destroyed farms and in Nieuwe Tonge the company walks in a (new development?) neighbourhood housing for the working class.

Minister-president Beel stelt zich op de hoogte van de toestand in de door de Tweede Wereldoorlog getroffen gebieden. In Middelharnis verlaat hij, met gezelschap, de veerboot; begroet oa burgemeester D. Rijnders en wordt toegejuicht door schoolkinderen. In de haven van Stad aan 't Haringvliet kijkt hij samen met loco-burgemeester L. Braber Jlz. naar het laden van een binnenvaartschip met aardappels. In Oude Tonge bekijken Beel en gezelschap vanaf de dijk de resten van de door de Duitsers opgeblazen sluiswerken; in Herkingen kijken ze naar de resten van vernielde boerderijen en in Nieuwe Tonge wandelt het gezelschap door een (nieuwbouw?) wijk arbeiderswoningen. |
